Every frog, also our local Speciesen own a weapon against bacteria and mushrooms which also need it at their permanently damp skin, their skin poison. The most poisonous local salientian is the earth toad Bufo bufo. Its poison cannot take ours it for darlings, the arrow poison frogs with the poisons, however, by far.
Which gave the whole family its name the notorious poison, Batrachotoxin is called and happens only on the skin from 3 Speciesen, Phyllobates aurotaenia, Phyllobates bicolor and Phyllobates terribilis. This is highly dangerous also for man. However, other very still gives potent skin poisons, e.g. Histrionicotoxin or Pumiliotoxin.
